Sunday in Atlanta

Look at these lovely blocks that members of the guild that Sandy belongs to made.

Sandy has her hand on the one that she made.

The blocks are gorgeous.

They are going to be made into a raffle quilt for their next fund raiser.
There is an Archivers store in the Atlanta area, and Sandy and her Mom go there a lot.  This pumpkin was one of the classes that was offered last year.

Mary, Sandy's Mom made this collage for each of her children.  Sandy has one sister  and 2 brothers.  Sandy's Mom lives in the next subdivision over.  She keeps all of their craft supplies in a spare room for their use.

Here is Mary with the cute turkey they made.

Check out these trees!  Aren't they adorable?  I said, if I lived near them, I would get into a heap of trouble trying to keep up with them and their projects.  Mary does not like to sew.  Sandy is always making  cute things for her Mom.

These are the two that got me started with iris folding cards!  Look at this cute one Mary made.  I love it. Can you see why it inspired me?

I took a bunch of washi tape down to show them what you can do with it for making some cute, quick cards.  These two Mary made.

They showed me how to make these cuts to make a card.  It is just like the bookmarks I made.

They were showing me how to paint with Turbow markers. Mary made these.

Sandy made these cards on Sunday.  We had so much fun playing .

Here is Sandy, Mary and Steve.  (Steve is Sandy's husband.)    He had our dinner ready each evening when we came back from shop hopping.  They are such wonderful friends.  Sandy's Mom is named Mary Agnes, which is my name.  She is the first person I have ever met with the same name.  In February she turned 90 years old.  Pretty good.  As many of their family that could got together in Atlanta to celebrate.  Sandy said it was so good to see everyone.

I flew home on Monday.  I hated to go.  We had such a great time. I miss being around them.  But it is time to move one to other things.  I, as usual, have lots of things to work on.
Have a great day.
Mary

Oh what wonderful projects! I loved them all...it looks like you had a great time and yes, you would be in trouble alot if you lived closer, but wouldn't it be fun!!!

Sounds like a fun time, Mary. I love the turkey that Mary Agnes made. What a great idea. The cards are so lovely. I'm afraid if I took up one more hobby my house would reach critical mass and explode or something. lol It is really tempting, though, maybe after I retire (someday) I'll start making my own cards. They are so beautiful!

Take care,
