Tammy 4 All Seasons Our last day

Ladies what a wonderful hop we have had.  Everyone took those wonderful patterns from Cori and Brooke, and of course Madame Samm, and ran with them.
Your creativity has been inspiring.
I am well into finishing up the Vintage Winter pattern.
I have had a lot of fun with these great patterns, and am looking forward to working with these creative designers again.  If I were home, I would have had my threads pulled and fabric selected for Brooke's Tammy pattern.

Today is the start of our 7th day featuring Tammy Bags and Pinny's.
There have been so many lovely bags. I am impressed with the creativity of all that have been participating.  Madame Samm has a hard job every day picking the WOW for the day.

Leslie Schmidt is my guest today "Tammy 4 All Seasons"

Good Morning quilters and stitchers.
I chose the winter design from Brooke and and to continue the elegant theme.
I selected a black snowflake and swirly design fabric for the body of the Tammy Bag and a cream and gold swirl for the interior.  The other fabrics will add some cool color to the bag.
The cross stitch fabric is a 28 count Jobelan in a wintry blue.  I'm using Cori's Spring Pretty Pinny pattern and want to add  more snowflake fabrics (or at least 1) for the buttons.
I want to carry the color red to the back of the pinny.  The background for the applique is a Kona pastel blue.

I have only started to do the cross stitch, since I am most comfortable with that.
I couldn't believe that I actually had to buy some floss colors.  I thought I had them all from my years of stitching samples for a local shop.
I have read the pattern directions for the bag and the pinny, which seem to be very well written.
I'm looking forward to see what the final outcome is and to see all the other beautiful bags all the other stitcher's have made.

Thank you for letting me be part of this hop.

Cheryl Wilkinson to post today, Tammy 4 All Seasons

I am sorry to report that Cheryl Wilkinson has had a family emergency that needs her attention.
She also said to let everyone know she will also be creating a blog, and will let me know when it is up and running.  She is excited about working on her Tammy Bag, and is sorry to not have it ready to show us.
We can let her know we are thinking about her.

Tammy 4 All Season, coming to you from Kihei, Maui

When I first started seeing the wonderful cross stitch patterns that Madamn Samm, of SewWeQuilt, was working on and showing on her site, I knew I wanted to do one.  The summer pattern created by Brooke Nolan was just my style.
I had this collection of fabric just begging to be used with Brooke's Vintage Summer.

I am sure a few of you remember this style of swim suit, and how about the swim caps we had to wear.
I originally took pictures while home in Illinois.  Somehow snow just did not seem to be the perfect way to show off my creations.  Instead, I waited until I arrived on Maui.
Some of you know I love to travel, so I had to make my own personal traveling bag, along with my Tammy Bag.

I can sit on our lani and stitch away.  Of course when I travel I always take along handwork.  This is the perfect type.  I learned to cross stitch when I was a young girl, but have not done a lot of it in a long while.  My style are small projects that I can see results quickly.

I made my Tammy Bag to hold my scissors, threads, needles, and of course my Readers.
Since my cataract surgery I need to wear readers for all close work and reading.
As you can see in the picture above, I got sunglasses.  They have clear glass in the top, and a reader prescription in the bottom, just perfect for stitching while I am enjoying the sun.
The second, larger drawstring, bag is to hold, my actual project.  In this case I am working on the Vintage Winter design.  I can break down my Snap Frame for easy carry.  It comes together and breaks apart with ease.  I can keep my project safe and at easy reach when I am ready to stitch.
I can carry other small projects, ready and waiting to be worked on.
You know how we all seem to have several things going at once,
I don't work quite as fast as Madame Samm, but like to have a spare, just in case.
I can see more Tammy Bags in my future.
After all, they are great gifts, for those special friends.

Cori Blunt designed this adorable pinny.  You can attach it to your Tammy Bag. In my case it goes on the back

When you turn the Pinny over, it has been designed to hold spare needles, and has the cutest little pocket to hold you waste threads.
As you can see I have been working on my Vintage Winter design.
I love using DMC threads. I swear I have almost every color they have ever put out.
I love using their Aida cloth as well.  I recently picked up one called Parakeet, which is a bright green.  Can't wait to play with it. This one is a soft green that I had in my Aida stash that I thought would work well with this pattern.
Madame Samm had these cute furry Stick With Me needle holders that I just had to have one.  The Stick With Me needle holder on the pattern is far more practical.  Charlie, our one kitty, love to check out my furry one.  It is soft like him.

Thank you to Madame Samm, Brooke Nolan, and Cori Blunt, for taking the time to create all these wonderful patterns.  It is so nice to be back to cross stitching.  It is a wonderful and relaxing way to spend a bit of down time.

I can't wait to see what everyone has done with their patterns for "Tammy 4 All Seasons."  We are off to a great start.  Please visit our other talented ladies today.  Remember, we all love to have you visit our blogs, and read your comments.  Your comments are what keep us joining these fabulous hops and continue creating and stretching our creativity.

We are ready to start the first blog hop of the year. Seems there is a bad cold spell in the Midwest.
I hate to say that Thearica of Stitch and Quilt that was scheduled for today has had a little trouble with her blog.  It was working, but for some reason is not at the minute.
I will keep you posted as to when it will be up and running.

Please do enjoy the other quilters.

Tammy 4 All Seasons

Ladies, we are starting a great hop on Friday the 9th.
All of our hoppers have been working on one of these gorgeous cross stitch patterns by Brooke Nolan.
We each got to choose which one we wanted to work on,
I chose summer, because I loved the memories it brought back.
Our stitching was to be used for the front of a Tammy Bag with the fabric of our choice.
I bet someone used gingham to make theirs.

Madame Samm of SewWeQuilt had this lovely idea to think Vintage.  With the help of Brooke, they came up with these lovely cross stitching patterns.
I think they did a wonderful job.

Cori of Chitter Chatter Designs. came up with these adorable Vintage  Pinny's to add to our bags.
They have a needle holder, and a little thread holder on the reverse side.
This is the one I used for my Tammy Bag.
Don't these designs bring back some wonderful memories of days gone by.
I hope you will join us for this fun hop.

Thanksgiving and keeping busy

Good Evening,
What a lovely day we had.  As you can see I cooked turkey with all the trimmings.
We are thankful for all our family and friends on this day.
We pray that all will stay well.

This was a spur of the moment picture.  I cooked the perfect golden turkey today.
I rarely record the day as it is just the three of us.  No formal portraits here, just ready to dig in.

I have been working on the quilt along that Lori Holt has been showing on  instagram.  Been a bit challenging, as I don't have instagram.  No fancy phones here for me.  Lori is from Bee in my bonnet.  It has been fun to use my Christmas fabric, and keep it scrapy.  This is  Charlie posing on the blocks.  As soon as I put them on the carpet, he charged over, laid down and looked at me.  "Is I cute Mom"??  Cats and fabric just seem to go together.

This is what they look like so far.  I think I have 5 more to put together.  She has started putting it together, but think it will be a couple more days before I will be putting mine together. Well, I have put a couple together, but need to finish the other blocks.

The other day I stopped at Joann fabric in Naperville,  I don't need any Christmas things, but walked though the area anyway.
I started to laugh when I saw this display. ( I am sure other customers were wondering what was so funny.)  Can you believe it,  Buffalo Snow!  I am sure Buffalo doesn't want anymore.
We have several relatives that live in the Buffalo area, and did in fact receive up to 6 feet of snow.  The digging out has begun.

This handsome Cardinal paid us a visit for several day.  I could hear him when he was in the area.  He was looking for his food.  He did not care to have the other birds in the same place that he was when eating.  No female came with him.

As you can see there are a couple blog hops coming up.
Have you signed up for either or both?  I am hosting the Tammy 4 all Seasons.
I have started on my cross stitching.  Currently working on the summer design.
Hop on over to SewWeQuilt for all the details.

Have a good evening, and hope that all have had a lovely Thanksgiving.

Vintage Tammy 4 All Seasons

Sew we quilt

Have you been over to "SEWWEQUILT"  this morning?
Are you ready for the first hop of 2015?
Madam Samm has once again out done herself.  She has enlisted the talented
Brooke Nolan, and Cori Blunt to design some wonderful patterns for us.
Brooke has designed 4 seasonal cross stitch/embroidery patterns for the front of our Tammy Bag,  Cori Blunt has designed 4 seasonal pinnies for the back of our Tammy Bag.
Connecting Threads has the Tammy Bag pattern for those that do not have it.

To coin Madam Samm's  phrase, they are OOAK (one of a kind.)
I already have mine picked out, and can't wait to get my chart and pinnie pattern to work on.

I will be your cheerleader for this hop with a bit of help from Pauline, and Madam Samm.
Pauline was scheduled to be your cheerleader, but had to step away, as her husband had gotten ill and needs her by his side.  Please keep them both in your prayers and thoughts.

Here is what I will need:

Your name
Your blog name
Your e-mail address

Which season cross stitch/embroidery pattern
Which season pinnie pattern

As an extra. do you require:
reading glasses
Aida or Monaco fabric for stitching
extra light to stitch by
stitching frames

I hope you will be joining me for our first hop of the new year, Januaray 9-20, 2015.
I can't wait to start stitching.
