This is the book the pattern is coming from. It was printed in 1999. The whole book is about using half square triangles in quite a variety of ways. Most of the blocks start out as 4 patch blocks, and it is all in the way they are positioned that makes the difference. I think, if I remember correctly, my very first full size quilt was made from this book that I had machine quilted. It is red and yellow. I am really not a fan of making the same identical block over and over. I do love scrap quilts.
I am not a quilter that uses only one company or style of fabric, or only one persons patterns. A friend once said I was a traditional quilter. Now I am not so sure. I have fabric that goes back to when calico was reproduced for the first time, maybe the 70's. A lot of my fabric is also from companies that are no longer in business, but then I have a lot of new things, too. I love the 30's fabrics, and have made several quilts from them. They are the girly girl fabrics. Collected a lot of fabrics for I spy quilts, as I have 7 great nieces and nephews. I buy what I like. You have seen all the types of fabrics I have used in making zippered bags. I have been sewing since I was a young girl, let me tell you that is a lot of years!
At least the "heat wave" has cooled down. I actually worked outside in my little gardens for a couple of hours today. We are still in need of rain. My husband said maybe next week.
Stay cool, and have a great week.
