Atlanta, here I come

On Wednesday, March 13, I flew to Atlanta, Ga. to visit my friend Sandy and go on the Atlanta Shop Hop.  I got a chance to check out the wonderful projects that Sandy is working on.  Love the sampler quilter in this top picture, that she is working on. The colors are so vibrant.

She was the lucky recipient of this wonderful quilt.  It is all hand sewn.  It is just  a top for now.  She would like to have it hand quilted.  It is so much fun with all the old gingham fabric.

This is last years Saturday Sampler from Little Quilts, in Marietta.  It is ready to be put together.

Here is another that she is working on with Kaffe fabric.

This sampler has been a work in progress for a while.  She quilted it using the big stitch method.  It is almost done. Sandy only has a small bit to quilt and it will be done.

Here is a close up of one of the gingham ladies.

We had such a great time to catch up.  We do get to talk on the phone and e-mail, but it is never the same as having the chance to sit, have coffee, and catch up.  Sandy and I were neighbors when we lived in Roselle, Il.  We lived by each other for at least 15 years.  Her husband took a job in New Jersey, and it started their traveling adventure.  They did live in Texas for a bit as well, before settling in Georgia.

It was so nice to be in a state that was having warm weather.  On Saturday it got up to 80 degrees.  Spring was springing. It was beautiful. It lets you know it is on its way North.
More later.
