Retreat at Dickson Valley

It was time for the Spring Retreat at Dickson Valley in Plano. Tuesday we were the benefactors or  9 inches of snow.  By the time we arrived at 9:00 am on Thursday the roads were clean and clear. The retreat is sponsored by "Prairie Stitches Quilt Shop" in Oswego, Illinois.  For most of us it is not a far drive.

Before noon we were set up and sewing.  We each get one big table and from there you can set up your own sewing space.

We had 17 quilters this weekend.  We can bring what ever we want to work on. Projects big and small are  in  evidence, so are all the supplies we need to complete these works.

Kathy was showing a work in progress that may becoming a block of the month at the quilt shop. I think this is a quilt  pattern from one of the Australian designers.

Kathy, is our resident funster.  She was blessed with a pair of Easter Egg glasses!

Jan is working on a round robin quilt for a Civil War group she belongs to.

Lisa was finishing up this beautiful star quilt.

Julie decided to get a head start on the 7 Summits Strip Quilt Challenge that will be happening on Worldwide Quilting Day, March 16, 2013.  You can go to Worldwidequiltingday.com  to check it out.  Our shop, "Prairie Stitches" is sponsoring a dueling machines, to try to meet the challenge.

More later!
