Happy Father's Day and Tammy Bag Schedule

Ron and I had a lovely day.  We celebrated Father's Day with a  wonderful Champagne Buffet on  "The Pride of Oregon. The drive over to Oregon, Illinois took about an hour and a half.  We were able to board this paddle wheel riverboat at 11:00.  Shortly after be seated we served our complimentary champagne and delicious muffins with a orange glaze sauce.

That's Ron in the Cardinals t-shirt, with the buffet line behind.  We had  scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, a delicious egg casserole, mixed vegetable, a seafood sauce, mashed potatoes, pork roll, a sweet and sour ham casserole, and fried chicken. I may have missed a couple of things, but you get the idea.  We also had German chocolate cake for dessert.

After eating we got to sit on the upper deck and enjoy a beautiful  trip up the Rock River and back to our boarding  pier. The sky blue, and the clouds puffy.

Here was a heron sunning himself by the river bank.

We passed "Chief Black Hawk", the largest concrete monolith in the country. If you look closely, there are people at the base of the statue.  He sits high on the banks of the river keeping a watchful eye.  The cruise is 15 miles round trip.
There is an onshore restaurant, and a hotel on the grounds.  We were so pleased with the food and service and the chance to enjoy a wonderful day together.

On another note, the last two days for the Tammy Bag blog hop are listed.  This has been an exciting hop that Madame Samm has hosted.  The creations we have seen are outstanding.  Be sure to stop by and cheer these charming ladies on.
