| Like I said before, I was not a hippie in the 60's. But I did have my little white gloves when I got dressed up. I have been sewing a long, long time. This is a dress I made in brown and white gingham with white rick rack on the bottom of the dress, sleeves and neckline. Madame Samm should love that gingham, even though it is not red. Remember the pattern carpets and how about those drapes?? The 60's was quite the time. I have looked for the mini skirt, but so can't find those pictures. I was more of the "Jackie Kennedy" look. I made a lot of my own dresses, and loved to wear hats and of course pearls. (Still do, on the pearls.) Carol over at Just Let Me Quilt was singing "our" songs all day. Who did your swoon over? My favorite was James Darren. I remember sending for his autograph. Back in those days you could write to different places and get signed autograph pictures. He was just so cool. |
| Remember the Gidget movies? How about all the Beach party movies. American Bandstand, I wanted to dance just like all those kids. My girlfriends and I would practice in front of the television. Oh to be so cool!! Join us on Wednesday to "Twist to the 60's with Batiks". We are going to have a groovy good time! Mary |

Killer. that dress is killer cute. I think I peaked in the 60s. Or early 70s. Seriously. Love looking back at the good old days pics.
