I am on a quilting retreat

I am at the Siena Retreat Center in Racine, Wisconsin this week.
We have been sewing up a storm.
The weather until Thursday has been gorgeous.  Storms rolled through and today the waves on the lake are wild.
There are 30 of us here now.  Some of us came on Monday, a few more on Tuesday, a few more on Wednesday, and I think the last to arrive are here now.

I can't show all that I am working on, cause I am saving some of it for my "Gingham Day" on Monday the 15th.
I can say, I have two tops finished, and another on the way.

The sea gulls are enjoying this weather too.

There are still some sunflowers in bloom.

I went out and about on Wednesday, and captured this picture of 2 sandhill cranes.

Monarch Butterflies are still in the area.

When I went to take this picture of the barn quilt, this grasshopper decided he wanted to be in the picture.

Can you believe this sky?  It was just after a rain shower.

The sea gulls and cormorants were either having a feeding frenzy, or helping to cheer us on with our sewing.

Can you tell me what is wrong with this picture.  I sewed 4 the correct way, and two upside down. Must have been a senior moment.

Here is what Lake Michigan looks like today.

The fury of the waves was powerful.Took all the stones off the sand.

The burst of a wave.

This is what it was looking like from up on the bluff.

The waves were rolling in.
We have been having a great time. I think collectively at least a dozen quilt tops have been completed so far this week.
I still have another couple of days were I go home.
More show and tell to come.
Mary

P.S.  I hope everyone has been cheering on our wonderful quilters during the "See you in September" hop.  There have been some pretty amazing gingham projects, as well as all the things that have been made this summer.  Please go to Sew We Quilt for the latest list of quilters.
