Spring is finally here

Ron and I went to Morton Arboretum, in Lisle, Illinois on Saturday.  The hope was, that the daffodils would be in full bloom.  They were partially blooming.  The arboretum has areas that are filled with thousands of daffodils.

There were some in the forest area.  The arboretum uses them for naturalizing.
It is beautiful.

Some of the crocus were in bloom. Usually they are the first sign of Spring.
The forecasters are saying that this year there will be a lot of over-lapping of flowers.  You will see things that should be later, may bloom now. It will be interesting.

Daffodils are my favorite flowers.

A tree swallow checking out the house.

Wildflowers are even starting to bloom.

The forsythia has been gorgeous so far.  Love the yellow.

I had always heard they were called Christmas Rose. They were in the ground cover  area.

The cardinal was singing up a storm.  Very loud and clear.

Wildflowers in the forest.

This scilla shows up everywhere.

On the way home we saw these goat.  They were so cute.

Wanted to let everyone know Spring is here.  It is the most beautiful time of the year, to me.

I will be on my way to Paducah, Kentucky on Monday.  The 30th anniversary of the quilt show there.
I have not been in 4 or 5 years, and am looking forward to it.
I am not going to take my laptop, so will be checking it when I get home on Friday.
Have a great week of sewing.
Oh, on an update of my Superpowers, I have 8 of the quilted bags to work on.  I got them ready to be hand quilted using DMC pearl cotton.  Like I said, If one is good 3 or more is better!

like you I love daffodils, I have lots in the garden along with tulips but my forsythia is not too happy, not sure why, also magnolia is opening up, we need some rain though, hopefully it will come at night time. Also love blue bells, I have some white ones opening up which is much too early in the year from them, fingers crossed we get no hard frosts as it will kill them .

Have fun at the AQS show. I have not been in years though I did go once after we moved down here, making that once in 17 years, LOL. When I was with HAAQG in Bloomington Normal we went just about every year till it got too hard to arrange for the bus trip.

Love the flowering pictures. Seems late for crocus and daffodils??
