Retreat in Racine, Wisconsin Part 1

Good Morning, I am back from 4 days at the Senia on the Lake, a retreat center, in Racine, Wisconsin. What a great time we had. The weather was gorgeous, with view of Lake Michigan from our windows. The room we get to use for quilting is big and spacious. We get to each set up our own space. (I think some ladies bring their whole sewing room, which is not a back thing. If you don't some a certain gadget, probably someone else can help you out.)  We have a kitchen area, where we can set up all the snack foods we bring.  Refrigerator to store, water, soda, and of course a little bit of wine. Of course there is always "Chocolate" that we all need to keep us going.
Our meals are included, and best of all, we each have our own room.  Each room has its own huge bathroom.  Sleeping was so comfortable. It is a beautiful place for creativity and to recharge your batteries.
The above picture was my work space, messy.
Here are a few of the fun things the quilters were working on. Hard to think of Christmas and winter coming, after how long this last one was.

This time you are peeking through the window to a Halloween scene.

Kathy is going to frame this one one she has finished it.

Okay, everyone, have you seen the latest concept, a quilt shop on wheels!  Yep! This lady has a quilt shop on wheels!
There were bolts of fabrics, batting, patterns, a few notions.  She had fat quarters all ready for purchasing.  What we did was to pick out the bolts, and they were all brought into our room, and she cut whatever we wanted.

She set up a couple of tables outside the van, and we took turns going into it to select which bolts we were interested in.  There is a wagon or two to bring it all inside!  This shop had been a vendor at our quilt show, and our fearless leader contacted her to come and vend at our retreat!

Kathy, in the pink jacket, finished this wonderful flying geese top.  She had each of the blocks done, and put it all together.  She had receive all the blue geese fabric for her 50th birthday from her bee members.  The quilt is so neat.  It is fun when you get to see a top completed while we are together.

Barb, was working on these table toppers. She says it is a quick and easy pattern.  Barb was working ahead on Christmas gifts.
Great colors.

Barb was working on trees for a wall hanging for her sewing room.

I was working on zipper bags.  I had taken a box full of bag fabric to make .  I have been collecting zippers and fabric to play with.  Tomorrow I will tell about a bag, and a lovely new friend.

Boy, that looks like fun! Having your own room is great.... much more restful than sharing. And I love that quilting truck... what a great idea!
