Racine Quilt Retreat. part 2

Here is my machine, working on one of the 20 zipper pouches I made in the four days we were there.
I had a big plastic box with all sorts of fabric and zippers to make zipper pouches.  A couple were kits I had, that I wanted to make up. Since I have been home, I have been working in embellishing them.  I have lots of embellishments, and they work great for these bags.

This is Sister Dorothy Ann. On Tuesday, she was one of our visitors.  I did not happen to be in the room when she stopped by my table to check out the pouches I had made. The quilters around me told me that she looked through them, and picked up one, tucked it under her arm, and was pretending on walking away with it..  She set it back on the pile and continued  visiting the other quilters. When I came back, Kathy M. went over to Sister, and let her know I was back.  She came over to visit.  I asked which one she had like, and promptly gave it to her.
She was beside herself. She could not thank me enough and was so happy.
The next morning she came by, and said the postman had left something for me. Sister gave me a beautiful card  she had made, and thank you note.  It touched my heart.

Wednesday night a large group of nuns came by to visit, and Sister Dorothy Ann was with them.  She was having the best time telling the other nuns about the purse I had given her.  That bag she is holding is full of zipper pouches, that she was going to see if she could leave with!  We had such a fun time.  She was so sweet, and we had such a great laugh.

Rock fung shei.  We take time to walk along the beach and pickup neat stones, and look for sea glass.

Kathy M. is working on " Midnight Flight" a Bonnie Hunter pattern.

Marcia is working on a tote bag with Dowton Abbey fabric

Love this scrappy quilt Sandy is working on.

Julie is working on this quilt for her husband.  She has a deadline and made great progress.

This is the light house, which is not too far from the retreat center.

Spring is coming.  There were more crocus in bloom in Racine then around home.

The kitties were there to greet me when I got home.  Some of us are already planning for the next retreat in September. This next one will be for a whole week.

Have a great rest of the week.
Mary

Love the idea of working on those zippered pouches at the Retreat! I can never get organised enough to sign up for a retreat but now you have given me the idea I might finally go on one! You girls look like you had lots of fun!

Wow! Looks like an awesome time was had by all! I enjoyed reading about the retreat center - it sounds like a great place! I enjoyed seeing what everyone was working on - lots of inspiration in those photos! What a clever idea to extend a quilt store on wheels!
