Wake Up to Kona

Kona Sunset Bundle
Pond, Azure, Baby Blue, Lapis, Blueberry, Petunia, Bluejay, Grapemist, Kiwi, Sour Apple, Pear, Honeydew, Cloud, Lavender, Robin Egg, Violet, Candy Green, Jade, Turquoise, Peacock, Amethyst, Bright Periwinkle, Magenta.
Don't you just love the names of these gorgeous colors?

Amanda Murphy wrote this great book using Kona Cottons, by Robert Kaufman.
Auriful thread has wonderful colors that work so well with them.
I had to have that book and the Sunset Palette to work my magic on "Stairways".
I love this quilt. When I showed my husband and son, they too, were just as impressed as I was. This is the first time that Andrew, my son, said he would like this one.

I so enjoyed making it. I used every color that was in that fat quarter bundle. They are all so beautiful. The feel and texture of the fabric played so nice together. This is the first time I have made a whole quilt using just solid fabrics.  I don't think it will be my last.
I still have fabric left and am already thinking about what to make next.

These were taken not long after one of the snow storms we have had recently.  I think the white snow, shows just how vibrant these colors are. The black Kona Cotton, to me, just sets it off.

I still had plenty of fabric left and decided to make another small quilt. I love zig zag's.  This was a fun little quilt to piece too. Don't you just love it when it all comes together.

I want to thank Madame Samm of Sew We Quilt and Carol for all their encouragement and cheerleading for this absolutely amazing hop.  Everyone has turned out fabulous creations.
Thank you to Amanda Murphy too for such a wonderful study in color.
