Birthday Lunch and Thursday Sew

On Wednesday to celebrate Andy's birthday, he suggested a restaurant in Schaumburg, Texas de Brazil.  Oh my, I fell in love!  It is a buffet type luncheon. You go to the "salad bar", which included salads, cheeses, soup, all with a Brazilian flavor.  After the salad bar, they give you a clean plate, and serve fried bananas to cleanse the palate.  Oh so good.

The meat is served by men who comes to your table with skewers of different kinds of meat, and chicken.  The sirloin was to die for.  You have a coaster that you turn one side up for, no thank you, and then turn over, and it means, yest stop here.  Everything was so good. It is not a place where you are a picky eater, or conserving the pocketbook.

Andy was so enjoying his birthday lunch.  I said I want to go there for my next birthday.
Thursday, Jan shared with us a quilt she purchased at the International Quilt Festival in June.  The fun thing about this quilt, is I had seen it Thursday night and thought it was gorgeous.  It was so pretty.  On Friday morning, when I went past the booth that had been displaying the quilt, it was gone. I had just hoped it went to a good home. Boy was I surprised when I got to see the quilt in person,  Jan had it.

I love it.

Just look at the detail.  The quilting is beautiful.

The boarders.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Looks like another hot one is on it's way.  We are ready for some rain and lower temperatures.

Have a sew, sew day.
Mary
