We were off to visit my sister Linda and her husband last week.
We flew into Burlington, Vermont to start our journey.
We were hoping to be able to see the color of fall while on our
vacation. It was a bit hard to tell, as we arrived before the sun
came up. By the time we got our car and we were on the road,
we did begin to see some color in the mountains.

Our first stop just had to be Ben and Jerry's in Waterbury, Vermont. What an experience. The ice cream was so good. We each had sundaes. |
 |
| There were several photo opportunities around the property. |

At the time I thought this was an interesting house. Found out that most homes are sided with cedar shakes. Aluminum siding was not seen there like we have here. A lot of logging is done. |
 |
When we stopped for lunch at McDonald's it was along this picturesque river. |
 |
There was even a couple mergansers swimming with the river water. We used the interstates a bit, but the back roads are our favorite way to travel. You find more interesting things to see. The color was showing up along our way.

In Lisbon, Maine I saw Moxie. I made Ron turn around so I could find out what this was. Moxie is a drink, I thought seminarian to Dr. Pepper. It was discovered by Dr Augustin Thompson, who was a homeopathic physician. It is claimed to be the first bottled carbonated beverage made in America. It was one of those things that was to cure all. There is a bit of conjecture that it was able to cure all. |

This drink is so popular that a festival is scheduled the second weekend in July. The dates for 2018 are July 13-15, and billed to have lots of "wicked cool Moxie events." We arrived at Linda and Jim's house about 5:00 that evening. It had been several years since we had gotten together. It will be good to catch up. More to come.

Our niece brought some Moxie to DH a couple of years ago. Not a huge fan. Did you like it? Enjoy Maine! ONe of my favorite places.
