Robin Shaeffer guest blogger " It's for the Birds."

Today is Robin Shaeffer's Day. She doesn't have a blog at this time, so I am hosting her. She writes" I was a pattern tester for this bag by Chriswdesigns.com It is called the Genevieve Messenger Bag. I made a plain version for the testing and really liked the pattern. I decided to try the fancier version with a linen panel in the middle with some hand embroidery."

Here is what the whole bag looks like.
"My second project was an appliqued wall hanging using a part of the Bella Garden pattern by Mckenna Ryan. I just love how the viney background sets off the birdies!" "It stands out so well on my tan wall."
Great closeup.
"The last project was made out of some gorgeous fabric that I came across at Joann's. I loved all the birds and bird cages on the texiy background.  I made it into a kind of artist portfolio to take my hand embroidery with me without having to bold the block. I always have a hard time getting the creasse marks out after stitching, so I wanted something big enough to keep the block flat.  I made up the pattern as I went.  I made sure to put tons of pockets on both inner sides.  I also put a ribbon across the top of one side to hook things on.  Then I sewed two pieces of batting down the middle so I have a couple of pages to hold my works in progress!"

"I hope you like my birdie projects!  With a name like Robin, how could I resist adding some feathered friends to my creations?"
