Cruise coming up!

7-DAY WESTERN CARIBBEAN
On Sunday February 10, Ron and I are going on the MS Nieuw Amsterdam, on the  itinerary above. It is a  quilting cruise, and I get to celebrate my birthday at sea!  We will actually be at Georgetown, Cayman Island during the day of.
Our teachers are, Mary Sorensen, Kimberly Einmo, Kathy McNeil, and Karen Combs.  I will be taking classes from Kimberly Einmo, which is a mystery quilt, and Mary Sorensen, who is doing needle turn applique.  As a special, exclusive quilter's tour in Costa Maya, Mexico, Holland America designed for us.  We are going to a Mayan community to learn the art of Huipil embroidery. It traditional for this area.  We will get to try the embroidery for ourselves.

This is a picture of the ship we will be on.  My husband is telling everyone he is my  arm candy.  (He has no interest in the quilting.)  The condition of his going was if we could get a veranda suite, he was on board.  He loves to sit on the balcony overlooking the ocean and just watch the sea by day, and stars by night, go by.

There is a block challenge, and was sent a piece of batik, that I need to make into a block.  I think I have finally found one to use. It was not easy coming up with an idea for "A shell of a good time!"  I will need to cut my fabric kit for the mystery quilt, with Kimberly Einmo. Now to get my sewing supplies together.  They tell us there are going to be quilt related activities during our week together and have been told there will be 67 quilters plus guests.
Am I excited?????  You bet.  Cruising is one of the neatest ways to travel, and putting quilting with it, just makes it perfect.  Dad taught me well.

We are flying down to Florida on Friday the 8th, to spend a day with Ron's Dad in New Port Richey.  On Saturday afternoon we are going to drive to the East coast. Who knows maybe I will get a chance to stop at a quilt shop on the way.  I am so ready to get away.

Have a great day and happy quilting.

Mary
