Sewing in Michigan

Ron and his quilters

Lunch at Titletown! October 8 through 16, Ron and I traveled to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to sew and visit with our friend Pat.  On our way up Michigan we met with 6 of the ladies from the Tuesday Sewing group in Garden.  They drove to Green Bay, Wisconsin to make a stop at Primitive Gatherings in Menasha.  What a great shop.  Inspiration abounds!  Anyway, after our shopping, we went to Titletown in Green Bay lunch.  Pat and Nancy drove with us to Garden.  It was great to start our catch up and plan what we were going to work on during the next week.

This is what greeted us when we arrived.  Michigan was in full color.

Tuesday was sewing down at the church hall.  Quilters meet there every Tuesday.  Lois was working on a new technique.  She had made this little quilt from a Thimbleberries pattern several years ago, and decided it needed a bit of dressing up.  She made applique pieces of thread painting and was attaching them.

Here is a close up of the scarecrow.  He is so cool! She said she would show the other quilters how to do this.  Wish I was going to be there when she does.

Pat has recently relocated her "studio" to the room above the garage.  What a fabulous place to sew

She was able to move her longarm, from the basement to this light and airy space.  (The front area was where I had set up my sewing space for the week.)

Here is Pat's work area.  What a view. She can look out and  watch the wildlife and enjoy the wonderful lighting.

Looking in the other direction.  She has all kinds of cupboards and storage space and the lighting is wonderful. What a wonderful place to spend sewing.

We had lots of catching up to do.  We enjoyed her wonderful cooking (I helped) and played cards (I always lost).
More tomorrow.
Have a great rest of today!

Mary
