Skagway, Alaska

One more fun adventure day.

Snow engine for the train, what a huge contraption.

Would you look at that, Another quilt shop!

Ron and I are going to take this train to the summit of White Horse Pass.
Interestingly this train actually crosses over to Canada.  Some of the excursions folks have to take their passports, as they would be getting off the train.  We were only going up and coming back down.  We were not allowed to get off the train.
The train is set up that it is pulled by two engines, with backs to back.
When we got to the summit the engines disconnect and are moved to a side rail.
They pull forward and connect to what was the end of our train.  Every passenger then grabs their sets and reverses it, and everyone is now sitting forward again.

We traveled passed rivers.

Traveled over bridges, as we hung out taking pictures.

Saw more waterfalls and gorges.

Viewed even more gorgeous scenery.

See that ridge around the left side mountain?  That is where we were!

Rock formations were unbelievable.

The old track.  We are almost to the summit.

Passing into Canada

This was the customs station.

On our way back down, we found out that people that had been taken up the side of the mountain earlier in the day to hike, were waiting for the last train back down to pick them up.

Almost back to the ship.
What a wonderful trip this was.
Again the sights were beautiful.
We have no where around us that is like this.

We are almost back to Seattle,
Have a good day.
