While I was on the Alaskan trips I took several things to work on by hand.
I just can't stand to be still.
I love doing handwork.

| I got all the center circles on my Steam Punk blocks. |
 |
I worked on the flower stems and leaves on the top block. Finished my forget-me-not block, now to make it into a zipper pouch. I did a few more embroidery stitches on my crazy quilt blocks. Made the hexie flowers for another row by row strip. Did finish 2 and a half blocks for my spiderweb quilt. Oh, and we made a little bag to test out the decorative stitches on the sewing machines we used for classes. |

What do you think? I added embroidery stitches as accents. |

Here is what that completed row looks like. There are times when it is just easier to do applique by hand. I think this makes 18 down.
And now the new H2O theme for the Row by Row has started. Let's see I get this year.
Hope you are having a great week. Mary |

you have certainly bee very busy inbetween sight seeing and such variety, the forget me knots are lovely, I seem to have loads in the garden this year not a clue where they came from but they were made very welcome and hopefully will be back next year! Like yu i enjoy hand stitching, but my joints are not so keen!
Wow, you have been busy. Love all your blocks. I prefer to do applique by hand. Not only do i find it more relaxing, but i prefer the look of hand sewing. Love your row.
I've been using the freezer paper method where you cut out the shape, press it to the right side of the fabric and cut it out about a quarter inch. Then glue the edges back. Zig zagging around them has been working well. Nothing beats hand sewing on the smaller pieces.
Keep the rows coming!
Such busy little fingers! I usually just take crochet when I travel because it's so simple, and can be done in low-light situations. Keep up the great work!!
You have been busy with your stitching. Your blocks look wonderful. The flowers are so sweet.
I admire your diligence in working on all your projects while on a beautiful cruise. I also want to make the Steam Punk pattern. I had bought the acrylic templates so I could piece it by machine, but I like the idea of hand work. All your blocks look wonderful!
