Row by Row update

Illinois has had a quilt hop that started in June through August. It corresponds with the Row by Row Experience. One of the days I decided to combine the two and see what I could come up with.
Did not buy much fabric, but did get a few license plates, and the kits to make the rows.
Support your local quilt shop!

The Fabric Center in Morris has a winner.
Their row is the fishes, the fifth row down.
I like all the blue fabrics that have been used. They all go together so well.

This one is called Serenity Beach, from
Sewing Etc in Yorkville, Il.
She used pin tucks to create the waves. Check out all the embellishments.

Here is Sunbonnet Sue with Umbrellas, from Sewing Source in Lake Villa, IL.
I love Sunbonnet Sue.

Cabanas, is from Quiltplay in Grayslake.

Storm at Sea is from Quilter's Heaven, in Northbrook.

"Splash" came from Quilters Destination in Arlington Heights

How about this Hexie clock I saw at the Quilt Merchant. in Winfield.
I forgot to get a picture of their row
Break time!  A hummingbird came to visit my larkspur the other day.

This Tiger Swallowtail also came for a visit.

am so pleased that I was able to capture the Ruby-throat Hummingbird.
 I
He stuck around for several minutes, going from flower to flower.

One last one for today,
One Fish, Two Fish, Three Stripped Blue Fish, came from the Fabric Center in Morris.
I said I wasn't going to get into this years Row by Row, like I did last year.
Couldn't resist.  Love the blue fabric that was produced for this years rows.
They all go together so nicely.

Hope you are having a great day.
Mary

Love all the Row by ROw patterns. I still haven't done anything with the patterns I collected last year, so I'm not going out of my way to collect many this year. I guess I should pick up some fabric though, so they'll somewhat coordinate.

I have been virtually visiting the shops participating in the Row by Row Hop. I haven't had time to visit shops, but I especially like having a list of shops TO visit. I didn't know about some of them in my own area. Love the patterns that have been designed.

I only picked up a few of the rows, but I've loved seeing all of them pop up on blogs around the country. Beautiful pics of the hummingbird!

Wow, Serenity Beach is awesome! Those pintucks are amazing; I love the detail. The cabanas are terrific as well. I really like how the completed quilt has some vertical rows. I have not seen that before. What a good idea.

Thanks for sharing,
Susan in Texas
