Ketchikan again

This time in Ketchikan, Ron and I took a scenic boat trip.
We did get to see some humpback whales.
I will take pictures of whales tails, anytime.
We saw more eagles.
The captain of our vessel showed us several nests.  This one still had chicks in it, but they did not cooperate with showing themselves.

Eagles were everywhere.

Totem Poles
This one is  representative of the Tlingit settlers.
The Saxman Native Village.

Here is a clan house at the Saxman Native Village.
It would be interesting to visit and see how they lived.

Guard Island Lighthouse
Yes, there was an Eagle sitting on the top watching the waters.
Funny story:  later in the day I happen to over hear two ladies, that were very dissatisfied with the tour we were on.  The reason, that was not a real lighthouse.  It did not have the black or red stripes they see on other lighthouses they have visited.  This was "just" an old house!

There doesn't take much for some folks to live by the water.
There are home large and small, with or without electricity, and other amenities, that we take for grant it.

Ketchikan

Also, found out that part of the front of the town is built on pillions.
Back in Prohibition, it is said that there were secret saloons or stashes of bootleg booze under them.
Patrons could guide their boats up the the booze storage and purchase what they needed.
Sounds like a good story.

Sun is going down on another wonderful day.

I will say we did encounter all types of weather.
We watched fog roll in, rain, hot humid, sunless, and cold days.
The only thing we did not have was snow.  We could always see it in the distance.
