Bowls with Borders Day 4

Good Morning," Happy Bowls with Borders Blog Hoppers!"

It is my day to show what I created with Regina Grewe's adorable paper pieced pattern.
First up is Halloween Bowls.
This one measures 9 1/4 x 19.  I have had these Halloween fabrics for a long time and decided they were just begging to be used. It was a lot of fun creating this one.

Here is a closeup of the top.

and the bottom.

I am one of those persons that say if one project is good, how about 2. So, using the same theme, Halloween, more fabric came out of the container.  The black strip around the edge is ribbon and again I used more Halloween buttons for accents. I could envision ghosts drifting on the steam coming from the bowls.
This one I enlarged the pattern to 125%, which gave more space to show off the fabrics. By enlarging the pattern, it became 11 x 29 1/2.

Closeup of the top

and bottom.
If there are two, why not three!  This time I changed the theme to fun and bright,  polka dots and checks. This one was a lot of fun and turned out to be 10 1/2 x25.

Bottom

and top.

Here they are.  I am so pleased with how each turned out.  I love paper piecing.  I have been working on some of Regina's other patterns.  They are very easy to work with.

Now lets hear it for our cheerleaders, Carol at "Just let me Quilt", and Madame Samm of "Sew We Quilt".
This is the first time I have been part of a blog hop, and it is so much fun.  Our cheerleaders, Carol and Madame Samm do a great job.  Keep checking out the sites, This is the biggest blog hop ever. Join the fun and see all the wonderful creations!

Have a great rest of the week!

Mary

Ghostly steaming is so much for the Halloween bowls. Enlarging the pattern does make a difference I like to see the fabric too. Good things come in threes.

Mary - Thanks for sharing your bowls. The holiday ones are very inspirational, but I also like the bright ones. As I scrolled through your website, I had pangs of memories for my Dad whose 100th year anniversary of his birth was just last week. He died too many years ago on Christmas Eve, but what really struck me was the pictures of Indiana. He was born and raised in Morocco and I spent several summers there as a young child and have many happy memories with family and life on the farm. It's such a contrast to city(suburban really) life in California, but I still miss him. Will pass on your website to my sisters. Thanks again.

Oh My I cannot believe how many you did and such FUN great fabrics!!! I love them ALL but I think as much as I love Halloween, (my maiden name is Coffin, who wouldn't love Halloween) that the polka dots have a special place in my heart......have been buying polka dots since I was old enough to buy fabrics, and that was a long time ago, (dinosaur age according to kids)LOL and now they come in such cute bright colors and assorted sizes!!
