It is my day to Ruffle Up

Once again it is my day to show off my ruffles!
But first let me thank our Ruffled (in a good way) cheerleaders. Amy of Sew Incredibly Crazy has kept us ruffled and ready for our big day. Madame Samm of Sew We Quilt, is our Ruffle Queen. (I think her real name is Madame Samm Ruffler.) Ruffles just has to be part of her name, don't you agree?
Well they have inspired and supported us.
Who knew all the things you can put ruffles on, from socks, to dish washing gloves, pillows, and quilts. They are there for our bikes, beds, and tables and even the clothesline.
Trust me this has been a tough act to follow.

First up is my new apron.  Who doesn't like hens that cook fried eggs!

I even came up with a drawstring bag (a stretch on the ruffles) well, it sort of looks like ruffles.
I had a little of the hen fabric leftover, but had to pair it with yellow toasters.  Hey, it is a kitchen theme.

Then in anticipation of SPRING and warm weather, I made a May Day basket, with ruffles eyelet and filled it with spring flowers!
And still thinking that SPRING may arrive one day soon, A cute Tammy Bag with flowers and ruffles.

I was having fun making Tammy Bag.
This has a cross-stitched geranium, but no ruffles.

Then in honor of Madame Samm's love of gingham, chose red and white check with eyelet ruffles.

You can't have too many ruffles.
My lovely models, Pinky, and Floozie had to show off the Flamingo Tammy Bag.
I did made all the ruffles by hand.  It was like, once I got started, I just couldn't stop.
I now have a list of items I can apply ruffles to.

Stop by these wonderful ladies today, and see what they ruffled up for you.
March 14th

Time to get back to some more ruffles.
It is time to replace all this snow with ruffles.

Have a great day, and stay warm.

Mary

Such cute projects, Mary. You have a great imagination and you used it to ruffle up a storm. Your tammy bags are wonderful and I love your May basket. Go Away SNOW!! Bring on sunshine and flowers...

lots of delights here with ruffles. I think the may basket gets my vote but not easy to choose a favourite

Lovely variety of projects, from the apron to the May Day baskets. All of the bags show a nice variety of ruffles, balanced, subtle, not in-your-face like so many can be. I can see me, a non-ruffly person, using them easily. And I certainly wouldn't mind a ruffled (no matter how ruffled) May Day basket landing on my step, filled with luscious dark chocolates and other goodies. Not that I expect one unless I make my own. Hmmm. Make my own Easter basket, St. Paddy's day cup, Arbor Day tree bag. Election Day victory/consolation kit. Surely there are more holidays coming up in the next couple of months.

Anyway, again very nice assortment of projects. You can see that you got my imagination going.

If I had to choose a favorite it would be......the flamingo tammy bag. But the apron would run a very close second.
I'm going to try and find a pattern and the hardware for the Tammy bag, they would just fit the age of my grand daughters.
Beautiful workmanship!

Mary ~ your apron is absolutely adorable. I love the ruffled border complete with eggs. That is the crowning (bottom) touch. Your May basket and Tammy bags are absolutely amazing. I had to take a peek at other postings. I appreciated the pix of the quilt show. I'm hoping to make my first entries this year. I have a 91 year old friend who made me a king DWR on a treadle a couple of years ago. She did it in 3 weeks. I had it quilted and never but the binding on it. I finished that yesterday. So, I need to de-cathair it, put a label, hanging sleeve, etc. I have a quilt I made about three years ago and couldn't decide if I wanted to scallop the edge or not, so it's on the UFO list to go in the quilt show. I wanted to honor my friend, so I thought that would give me incentive to finish mine, too! I saw the adorable pic of Felicity. I love that you are teaching her the princess wave. What great memories you are making for all. Thanks for participating and sharing your great projects to inspire us all.
