Our first official stop we were not disappointed. This beauty was sitting there as if he was posing for all the cameras we were seeing along the river.
The next morning we headed back to the Illinois side of the river. At Rock Island, while we were watching the eagles, I spotted this pack of coyotes. Impressive. The eagles presence was everywhere.
As we started home, we had decided to take Route 6. Keeps you off the expressway. We both saw this barn quilt at the same time.
You just never know what you will see along the way. These guys were giving us the eye!
Llama's are not a common sight.
Coming back to Princeton, at the fairgrounds we ran across this barn with quilts on it.
We made a stop at Starved-Rock and came across this beauty.
The view of Lover's Leap from the lodge at Starved-Rock.
These deer were not far front the front door!
You can see the different ice lines on the trees. A lot of the ice has gone away on this river.
As we came out of the restaurant this was the sky we saw. The beautiful sky was amazing. An amazing sight for a fun and amazing two days. Happy Anniversary to us!

your photos are absolutely candy for the eye…Ron looks quite bundled….those deer are just that …and the eagles…. wow
what a great trip you had and so much wild life you have caught on camera, the only eagle I have seen was in the zoo
Your pictures are amazing! I did not realize how many eagles you have in Iowa. I'm pretty sure they weren't flocking in the upper midwest when I lived there 30 years ago. My co-worker sent me the eagle web cam link and I watched one incubate the eggs for awhile this noon. Amazing!
Thanks for sharing,

Happy Anniversary!! Great pictures of the all wildlife.
Wow, what did you have to pay all those birds and animals to pose for your pictures?!? LOL!! Those are some awesome pic. I would love to see that many eagles in one place! Hope you had a wonderful anniversary!
I can't believe I missed this! What wonderful pics of eagles. Hubby and I will have to visit there. We go to a large dam in Maryland to see them in the winter, and we have a great kayaking place for summer viewing. Happy Anniversary!
Looks like you had a great trip! We like Hank's too. Gosh, my in-laws live in Princeton and I don't remember seeing that red bard at the fairgrounds. I'm going to have to make it a point to look next time I'm in Princeton. Since you traveled Rt 6 on your way home, you traveled right through my itsy bitsy town.
Happy Anniversary!
