Quilt Retreat.Iron River, Michigan

Here are a couple more of the spectacular sunset we witnessed our first night on Hargerman Lake.
It was so beautiful. One of the workers told us the next day, that she lives across the lake, and that you looked west the sky was gorgeous, all pink and blue as the sun was setting.

We all had to get out and walk in the sun. It felt so warm on my skin.

Love how this picture turned out with the sun reflecting on the water.

Fran was working hard on her projects.  She got a lot of blocks done.  The three of them are all going on another retreat this week, at the Marygrove Retreat Center in Garden, Michigan.   Two in two weeks.  Imagine how much more you could get done.

This was the morning sun on Sunday.  We all had to scrap frost off our windows.
We all went to a service then had a great brunch to fuel us for our journey home.
I do have to say "Garman"  (my gps) had me heading toward Iowa.    Good thing I had a map.  I may be still driving.

I got another Row by Row Experience, row done.

Here are the four marathon quilters.
Fran, Gail, Pat and myself.

And didn't I find a barn quilt on the way home.

We had a wonderful time.  It is great to quilt with friends.
Hope you are having a quilty week.
Mary

how good to have been on this retreat and have spent time with friends. Now back to reality, cooking cleaning etc!

Beautiful pictures! My fall retreat is in two weeks, and I'm getting anxious after seeing your pictures. A nice mixture of quilting, good friends, beautiful scenery, and the 'scenic' route home.

It's been a long time since I have been on a quilt retreat. They are always so much fun but exhausting too. The scenery is beautiful. Love the barn quilt. We are heading to French Lick IN in the morning for a week. I hear it is rural...may not have internet. I am taking my sewing machine...I can pretend I am on a quilt retreat with DH. We will have a great quiet time...hope to find a few antique shops. Happy stitching, Pauline

What fun! I may have told you before, but my MIL was from Iron River and DH and I went there a few years ago to do some family research. I love the area! It would be such fun to go there again.
