Onward to Niagara Falls

One more row to work on when I get home.

The night before we heard about an accident on a bridge to Hamilton.  A trucker had the bed if his dump truck raised, even though it was empty.  They were doing construction on that side of the bridge, and that is what he ran into.  The integrity of the structure is what is in question.  These are not the greatest pictures, but first is looking in the area that got hit.

The trucker hit another 18 wheeler in the process.

If you can enlarge this one, you can see the trucks.  There was a two mile long hold up for people to use a detour onto a drawbridge that could be gotten  to by a bypass leading to this bridge.  Made the traveling long for those that did not know what happened.  Our side heading east was okay.  If it had not been, there would have been a 30 mile detour for us.  The trucker is being charged.  He was driving with a few violations.  Not too good for him.

We stopped at Niagara Fall,  This is looking toward the American Falls.  What a sight.  It is beautiful, and powerful.  So hard to imagine how much water goes over the falls.  At the bottom is the "Maid of the Mist.  That boat that takes people right up to the falls. Not happening to me!
I know, and you are wondering how I can get into the basket of a hot air balloon and fly!
I astound myself.

Check out all those people.

Looking toward the Horseshoe Falls.  What a sight.

Last year we was the falls from the American side.  They are fascinating to watch.

Ron and Andy with the Horseshoe Falls in the background.

Horseshoe Falls

The power of that water.

Why would someone want to try to go over the falls.  There are daredevils, and suicides. Some survive and some don't.

Andy got to meet a real Canadian Mountain Policewomen.  She has been in their service for 6 years.  She was quite interesting to talk too.

Beautiful and powerful.

The power of a zoom lens.

Next up in the family reunions.

Beautiful pictures of the falls. We did the Maid of the Mist on our one trip up there, and it was a blast! Note to self: go back to Niagara Falls soon.
