She Who Sews, Today is my day

When I first saw the information about this hop on Sew We Quilt. I just knew I wanted to be part of it.
I had seen advertisements for this fabric, and thought it would be fun to play with.

I am ready to go to any retreat and set up my sewing area.
I made the mat for my sewing machine to set on.  The part that is below the table, is two pockets where I can put my ruler, or the ever popular seam ripper, while I am sewing. I made a little trash bucket, pincushion, and a zippered pouch to hold my tools.  The tote bag is to hold it all, plus my project.

This fabric, a product of Quilting Treasurers called "She Who Sews".  It  has two different panels, and fabrics that have a sewing theme, such as yellow tape measures, buttons and the red tomato pincushions.  There is one fabric that has vintage sewing motifs.
For my tote bag, I used 6 of one panel fabric, the measuring tape, buttons, tomato pincushion and vintage sewing motifs.
I used those panel pieces to make pockets on the front and back. Each panel became a pocket.

The back of my retreat tote.

For the zippered  pouch I used the buttons and tomato pincushions fabrics. The pouch is a great way to transport all those tools we use while sewing.  It is one way to keep them contained.

Here are the trash bucket and pincushion.   Madame Samm's  pincushion pattern came in handy. I made a few pinnies  with some of the sewing buttons I have.

You can see how the cute sewing mat is the perfect size  for my little Singer Featherweight.

I enjoyed working with this line of fabric from Quilting Treasurers.

Thank you to Madame Samm and Carla Henton of Createn in the sticks for putting on this fun hop.
Don't forget that there is another hop  going on at the same time.

Carla scheduled the hops together. So every other day you would see a project using the fabric from Quilting Treasurers or a Door Stop.

Please, don't forget to visit these other great sewers and cheer them on.
I know I appreciate all of your kind comments and I know they do, too.

I have so much fun sewing and creating  for these hops.  I am sure a lot of the other quilters feel the same way.  If you have never been part of a hop, give it a try.  It is a awarding experience and you meet such amazing quilters.

Have a great sewing day.
Mary

It's all just too cute Mary! I haven't seen that fabric over here but the craft show is next month so will look out for it then!

I have just picked up my Featherweight today, only an hour ago! I'm in love...... she looks so pretty and apparently sews like a dream. Bought it from a retired sewing machine man so I figure it must be a good buy. So keen to sew with it, will play tonight:-)

Do you carry your Featherweight around in it's black box? I'm thinking of making something to hold the machine and extras plus other sewing notions.

You really went all out. You must have done ONLY these projects last month. I like the idea of the pincushion fabric becoming a pincushion.Your tote bag looks so professional, too!. I am reminded that my new machine does not have her own mat yet...or a cover. I am inspired by what I see here.
