Inspiration

Still working on cards. This time they are for Thanksgiving.  Both of these turkeys are new for me.  This one is from a wonderful card creator in Georgia.

This was a bit harder to work on, but I am so happy with how it turned out.  There are so many things you can do in creating cards, It is hard to remember and put all of them to work.  The embellishments alone are so much fun.  I love to work on the cards.  Next up will be Christmas.

Saturday, at A Touch of Amish, in Barrington, was an open house.  They had wonderful ideas to make for the coming holidays.  I just had to show this quilt that was hanging in the class room.  The class was for the houses. The teacher, Gail added the Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Bill.  I love this quilt.  So much fun.

One of the demos was to make this cool tree. It is a free pattern on the internet, called White House Christmas Tree.  It would make a great Advent Calender, or a way to display all sorts of cute Christmas buttons or dodads.

How about this darling tree made with triangles.  Too cute.  They had it in several sizes.
There were kits available to make a lot of the projects, prizes at the end of demos, and refreshments, and a grand prize. (I did not receive a phone call, so guess I did not win.)  There was also discounts on fabric through out the day. Christmas was on discount all day, then every house a different color of fabric, notions or batting were on sale.  A great time was being had by all.  It has been several years since I had been to the shop, so it was fun to see everyone.  When I lived closer, I used to belong to clubs and take classes there.  It was a beautiful day to be out and about.

Don't forget Holiday Lane Blog Hop starts on Wednesday.
Have a great week.
Happy Thanksgiving

Mary
