Been a while since I wrote, time to catch up. Today was baking day!! Made 4 batches of Chocolate Chip, 3 of sugar cutout with frosting, 1 ginger, 3 of frosted snickerdoodle, and I even made a batch of brownies! Will take a plate to club on Monday.
Got all my Christmas presents done and sent out. I made a lot of things this year. It was a lot of fun. Two scrapbooks. One for my Dad that he can take on his trip, and one for my sister, that she may take with her on her trip to Washington DC.
I made a lot of my Christmas cards this year too. I think it is time to organize my card making supplies. I am afraid I will buy doubles. I think I need to make a notebook with what punches I have, and which dies I have from Sizzix. I have stamped a bunch of white cardstock with pictures to color. I figure it is something to play with when I have nothing else to do.
Started cutting fabric for a "mystery" quilt, Carolina Christmas, Bonnie Hunter. The quilt is in red, green and white fabric. I have enough Christmas fabric to do just that. I still have 3 blocks to complete for the Farmers Wife quilt. Need to get those done before January. We will be up to 27 blocks done. Mary Radke, has hers put together to date. I think that sounds like a great idea, that way I could keep track of which fabrics I am using. I don't think anyone else is doing theirs in the 30"s fabrics.
Dad is off on his Christmas trip. Today is a day at sea for him. I can follow along with where he is. He was looking forward to this one and the next one, when he goes to the Amazon. We had Christmas here on Sunday. Made a "Christmas " dinner. He wanted to make sure he got potatoes. Mashed Potatoes. I decorated a picture clock with family pictures for him, and got his florsheim slippers. We went to look at houses all dressed up for Christmas. Checked out the house in Elburn. 230,000 lights to music. While we were watching, Santa came by the car and gave us candy canes. It was great. Even Dad was impressed. As soon as we got back to Alden, he started to tell everyone about it. I think I may go to his house tomorrow to do the clean up I promised him. Alden is going to clean his carpet. I think I can take the feather duster to the rest of his place. Need to check his mail too.
Then I think I will start sewing again. There are always things to work on.
Oh, the big news was I was published on the Apron Goddesses blogspot on December 7. There was my picture and a little story about the Flamingos. Oh, and Kathy found out that we will not get our aprons published. We won't get them back until February. At least we tried.
Andy has a girlfriend, she may be coming over Christmas Eve. I hope so. We have met her once. Andy has to work Christmas Day, so our present opening will be once he gets home. I will fix a turkey dinner with the trimmings.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
