Another Bonnie Hunter finish

In May of 2016, Pride of the Prairie guild was able to have Bonnie Hunter back for another workshop.
This time we were going to work on the pattern  "Tulip Fields".
Some how when I was getting my fabrics ready for the workshop, I saw a picture of "Turkey Tracks"
in her book, and it was made with red scraps.
So pulled red stings and strips and use them for the "Tulip Fields".
Tulips remind me of red.   They always stand out for me.

I had a lot of red, and the neutrals for the background.

Here is what Bonnie's quilt looks like.
It became a work in progress, with a lot of help from Charlie.

Now this one is done too.
I used various greens for the sashing, with various yellows for the cornerstones and
a lot of greens for the border.
Here is the tag on the back.
For once I could come up with a name for this quilt.
"Elvis is in the Tulip Fields".

I happened to have a couple of strips of the green Elvis, that I
thought would be perfect in the border, as it is all strip pieced.
I never intended it to be a Christmas quilt, but because it is
all red and green, most people think it is.

Personally, I love it when a plan comes together!
When I was in Amsterdam last summer, I brought a bag of tulips bulbs back.
This has to be a first.  The critters that frequent my yard did not dig them up.
Here are a few that are starting to bloom.

I hope you are having a wonderful blooming day!

Gorgeous quilt! Bonnie Hunter is visiting us in a couple of weeks. I'll attend her lecture/trunk show, but I'm unable to attend the workshop. Can't wait to see and hear her.
