Black Vulture
The sanctuary has all types of habitat. These trees are alive, even though to me they appeared dead. It is weird to see the trees in Florida shed their leaves.
Pileated Woodpecker.
Turtle, Okay, I don't know the name of this one!
Great crested Flycatcher
He decided to sit while everyone around took his picture.
It is like in the movie "Sunset Boulevard", "I am ready for my closeup".
By the time I left, this was the list of birds and animals sited that day. I left about 2:00 in the afternoon. A lot of them I did see. It is neat that they have people post what they saw.
This "swamp" has a 2.25 mile walk, which I did do. It is quite
interesting. There is a swamp habitat that the wading type birds can live.
This was an enjoyable place to visit. As the day moved along there were
more people on the boardwalk. The whole areas pathway was a boardwalk.
I have added to my life bird list.
There is an organization "Ebird" where you can list the birds you have seen.
It counts each time a new bird is added. Even though you may list all the different
birds you see at one time, in one area, it keeps track if you add a new one.
At this location it was the painted bunting. It is a way for me to keep track of what
types of birds I see.
Hope you are having a great day. I certainly am.

certainly pretty colourful birds to be seen, not so keen on the vulture though. Do you trees not lose their leaves in winter?
Such an incredible walk and to see a vulture would be so amazing!
Gosh, would I Love to go there..I'm very much a nature Lover..
Thank you for your great photos....those Pileated woodpeckers are quite striking. I've only seen 1 in my lifetime so far. We have turkey vultures here..we're in the middle of several farms. But sadly no Crested Flycatchers or Painted Buntings.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Fabulous picture of all those beautiful birds! Thank you for sharing.
