Ron's Mom fell and broken three ribs on Thanksgiving Day while on a visit to Texas with her daughter. She is 89 and had flown to Texas to another son to spend the holiday.
Needless to say new flight arrangements had to be made, doctors appointments set up for followup. Ron decided to fly to Buffalo, where his Mom lives, to see if any further living arrangements had to be set up.
He flew to Buffalo on Thursday, and was going to come home on Sunday morning.
I gave him all the advice I could, as I have been through all this previously, with my Dad.
It has all turned out good. Ron was glad to see Mom, and make sure all was well.

| I took the opportunity to set up my sewing station in the family room, so I could catch up on shows I had missed, and watch they on the big screen television. I have my table, sewing machine, and lamp ready to go. I had been at Thursday sew and worked on Bonnie Hunter's, Jamestown Landing. |
 |
My trusty kitty, Charlie was there to make sure I was cutting and sewing correctly. What I did was take out "Kits". Previously purchased patterns with the fabrics already with it. Some of these have been around a long time, some not so long. |
 |
| Sewn, and ready to have the embroidery done! Then on to quilting. |
 |
| I have been working on this bit of embroidery. Pauline at Quilt-N-Queen of binding had shown this adorable pattern during our Wicked blog hop. |
 |
| Here is a jewelry pouch. Done, and perfect to send to my sister. |
 |
| The charm squares and pattern for the tote, I had won in a giveaway a couple of years ago. I got it all ready to compete. I could not find the D rings to finish it out. I have all the straps and closures made and ready to go. The problem is I had seen the D rings not long ago. So you know, as soon as I go buy more, I will find the others. |
 |
| I had purchased this at a quilt show, so needed to sew the Dresden together, now for the hand applique and finishing. |
 |
| Here is the watermelon again. It needs embroidery then quilting. |
 |
| Had this tumbler flag. All the tumblers came with the pattern. Now for simple quilting, and to applique a star on the blue. |
 |
| This little one needs embroidery and quilting. I had pulled fabrics for this one. I thought, as long as I was doing small, I would do this one up too. |
 |
| One of the ladies at sewing on Thursday was working on a quilt just like this. Well, I thought it was cute and needed to do it too. So Friday afternoon I went up to the Quilt Merchant in Winfield and picked this up. After it is quilted there are Christmas decorations to put on the tree, and bows on the packages beside the tree. |
 |
| Well I found out they had a pumpkin one for the fall. Just needs embroidery and quilting. |
 |
| And one for summer! I could not resist, so made them on Saturday night. I found out there will be one more for Spring. Can't wait to play with it too. I just thought they were so cute. The tumblers were all cut. The kit included binding and backing and all the tumblers needed to make each one. |
 |
Last, but not least, this little snowball quilt. Just needs to be quilting and bound.
I had a great time playing with all these little kits. I had pulled out several more to play with, but sort of ran out of time. No, I did not a lick of cleaning. I did do laundry, and made a pot roast, took our son to lunch one day and sewed, sewed. It was so nice to have the time to just sew. I am glad all worked out with Ron's Mom, but I did enjoy my me time as well. Have a great week. Mary |

So many great projects to work on! You'll have lots of finishes in no time. Glad to hear that your MIL is doing better. That's rough at any age.
Glad all is well with Ron's mom. It is good to have some me time every once in a while. Cute cat.
When you say sewing marathon, you really mean it! Lots of great projects. Glad to hear your MIL is ok.
Oh my gosh, I love all the little tumbler patterns! I love having some 'home alone time' with no chores, etc. You used your time to the best!!
do hope MIL recovers soon, broken ribs can be so painful as they cannot put them in plaster.
You have been so so creative and busy so many lovely projects started, now you just have to complete them!
Oh, my!!
You have been working hard!!!
Looking forward to see the finish as well. Hope MOM will bee better soon.
Wish you a nice "advents" time.
Good for you! Great projects, I enjoyed seeing them all. Glad you had time for you and that your MIL is doing better too. It's good that you had this time just to do what you wanted and not worry about cleaning or cooking, etc. and not feel guilty about it. We all need this and it shouldn't take an accident or illness to get this. We all need out down time. I can't wait to see all of these projects quilted and finished. Have fun and happy holidays!
