This first quilt I had the winning bid. It is definately a "kit" quilt. What do you think 1950's or 1960's? The dots are all there for quilting. The person appliqued it all in white thread. The quilt and the binding is all done by hand. It is in excellent condition. I don't think it had been used. I think the quilt was made for a double bed.
This second quilt is believe is from the 30's. It has no batting inside and is all done by hand. There is a some repair work that is needed. In one place, all the hexagons are gone. They would have all been the same fabric. Otherwise it is in good condition. This one is a double bed size, but extra long.

Lovely quilts, congratulations on your winning bids. I'm no expert, but the yellows in that first quilt have a real 70's harvest gold feel to me. No idea on the hexagons, probably older would be my guess.
Take care,

Hello Mary
Both are very beautiful ! You are a lucky woman. I have never seen quilts in auction in France.
Have a nice day
Oh wow....lucky you, these quilts are amazing!!
Those quilts are just wonderful Mary.I especially like the yellow quilt. We don't ever see old quilts here for sale and if there are any they are very very expensive. Quilters here buy most of the old quilts from America and put them up for such high prices the average person just can not afford them.
My beautiful children gave me an American antique quilt for Mothers Day a few years back, my eldest daughter won it on E-bay and I treasure that quilt. I think it was dated from the late 1800s.
